I think my problem is that with all the EQ this sound comes out more as a horrible distorting sound. I'm almost certain it's an emulation of the tines of a rhodes keyboard. I have noticed that the lounge lizard preset i'm using has this vibrating sound even with no EQ at all, but very faintly. I have an acoustica compressor on the master track which honestly made the track sound better and helped some of the distortion. I've honestly hardly used rhodes VSTi's before this. I've been a musician for many years but i'm an amateur at sound recording still. I probably notice it because it's my track and i've heard it a billion times during recording. It's also only at certain points in the song that I notice this. I'm suspecting this because I can only hear the distortion from stereos with the volume up a considerable amount. I've fiddled around a bit more and my hypothesis is that if I can somehow get this track to be louder at a lower volume from a stereo it won't distort anymore. One would have to suspect there's a clue there.ĭefinitely a clue. Oddly it seems to be mostly the rhodes synths that have this sound.
